Sloped Driveway | Residential Riverfront Access Road

A riverfront propery in Tennessee was in need of reinforcement for its sloped driveway that leads to the river. Frequented by passenger vehicles, boat trailers and susceptible to slope erosion especially during heavy rains, RutGuard 6" was installed using a crushed gravel. After preparing the sub-base, ensuring a smooth and even surface, a layer of geotextile fabric was placed beneath the panels. With the slope exceeding a 3:1 / 33% / 18 degree threshold, the installer chose to anchor the panels into the sub-grade long term, using curved rebar before filling the panels with a crushed, angular road base type gravel. The strength equivalent of laying over 1 foot of gravel was achieved by confining material into just 6"; reducing up front prep-work, infill material and future routine maintenance.
